Set in California while under Spanish control, the Governor uses Captain Esteban (Ron Liebman) to torment the peasants. One of the local aristocrats is Don Diego Vega (George Hamilton) who wants to stand up for the rights of the downtrodden, but the appearance of his long-lost twin brother Bunny Wigglesworth (George Hamilton) complicates matters. When Diego is unable to be the Spanish Robin Hood named Zorro (George Hamilton), Bunny agrees to impersonate Zorro as the Gay Blade, wearing colorful silk capes and carrying a whip. He even impresses a budding feminist named Charlotte (Lauren Hutton) as he takes on the evil excesses of Captain Esteban by having a costume party in which everyone dresses as Zorro.
