“Twelve O’Clock High” sees General Frank Savage (Gregory Peck) taking command of a hard luck bomber group in the early days of air raids over Germany after the original commander was relived of duty. When Frank arrives the group is the laziest undisciplined military group he’s ever seen. It’s now up to him to kick them into high gear for being ready to fight and fly. It’s all about moral after having lost so many bombing raids; the boys just don’t have any fight left. Finally showing the pilots how to take pride in themselves they begin to raise the standard in the air force.
