Ebenezer Scrooge (Alastair Sim) is rich old, bitter, cheap man who considers the poor to be “surplus population” not good for anything or worthy of his charity. Christmas is coming, but as far as he is concern. It’s just another day, and everyone should treat it accordingly. Bob Cratchit is Scrooge’s longsuffering employee, who is grateful for the little that he has in life, but wish that he could do more for is wife and family. He is a part of the working poor and is unable to afford treatment for his young crippled son, Tim. Although Tim’s health is failing, he is a constant inspiration. Scrooge has a nephew Peter who attempts to have a relationship with uncle, but Scrooge is unable to forge the relationship with the person who has cause the death of his much loved sister by being born. The ghost of Scrooge’s partner, Jacob Marley, visits to warn him to not continue on his destructive path. Scrooge, of course, ignores this advice, and as a result, he receives a visitation from three ghosts the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come.
